The Puma reached German units in 2015 and is built around a problem: infantry vehicles must be protected enough to survive and light enough to fly to the fight. The answer is modular armour, stripped down to a base level for air transport and bolted back on before combat. The turret is unmanned, so the entire crew sits low in the hull behind the heaviest protection, and the running gear is decoupled from the hull, which cuts noise and vibration inside the vehicle. The 30 mm cannon fires airburst ammunition. On MCS the Puma is the most survivable IFV in the fleet, with a low, protected crew position and a gun whose airburst rounds are effective against targets in cover. It is complex and expensive to lose. Recommended for players who prefer to advance carefully with infantry and win by not dying.
