The Su-57 entered Russian service in 2020 and takes a different view of the fifth generation than its American rivals. Signature reduction is present but partial, with a visibly less disciplined shape than an F-22, and the design instead prioritises extreme agility: both nozzles vector in all axes, the leading edge root extensions are movable, and the aircraft is stable far beyond the normal stall angle. Radar antennas are distributed around the airframe rather than concentrated in the nose. On MCS the Felon is the fifth generation aircraft for people who actually want to dogfight. Its nose authority is the best available and it can force a shot from positions no other aircraft can reach. It is easier to detect than a Raptor or a Lightning, so it wins by getting close rather than by staying hidden. Recommended for aggressive pilots confident in close combat.
