The J-36 first flew in December 2024 and is the most unusual combat aircraft to appear in years. It has no vertical tail at all, a broad modified delta planform, and three engine intakes, two under the wing roots and one on the spine, which is a configuration no operational fighter has used. The airframe is very large, suggesting deep internal bays and a fuel load intended for missions measured in thousands of kilometres. Almost everything else about it is unconfirmed. On MCS it is a sixth generation concept flown as such: enormous internal volume, high subsonic and supersonic cruise, and a shape that gives very little away from any angle. It is not a knife fighter, and the size shows the moment you try to reverse a turn. Recommended for players who want the newest thing in the hangar and are happy fighting at range.
