The F-15E took the air superiority Eagle, added a rear cockpit for a weapon systems officer, strengthened the structure for low level flight and bolted conformal fuel tanks along the intakes so the underwing stations stayed free for weapons. It entered service in 1989 and can carry over ten tonnes of ordnance while retaining the air to air capability of the original. Terrain following radar lets it run at low altitude in the dark. On MCS the Strike Eagle is the aircraft you take when the mission has both ground targets and enemy fighters and you do not want to choose. It is heavy and it accelerates like a loaded aircraft rather than a clean one, but the raw thrust means it climbs out of trouble. Against a dedicated air superiority fighter it will lose a slow turning fight. Recommended for players flying mixed objectives alone.
