The MiG-31 entered service in 1981 to guard enormous stretches of Soviet airspace against high flying, fast moving targets. It was the first fighter in the world with a phased array radar, the Zaslon, and it can dash beyond Mach 2.8, faster than anything else in service today. It is a large two seat aircraft with a steel heavy structure, and the crew work as a pair with the back seat running the radar. The BM upgrade modernised the systems and expanded its weapons. On MCS the Foxhound is exactly one thing: an interceptor. It reaches any corner of the map faster than anything else and shoots at ranges nobody expects. It is also structurally limited to gentle manoeuvres, so it genuinely cannot dogfight and dies immediately if something catches it. Recommended for players who want to kill from far away and never merge.
