The Su-39 is the single seat anti-armour development of the Su-25, originally designated Su-25TM. Sukhoi removed the second cockpit of the trainer airframe it was based on, filled the space with fuel and avionics, and gave it the Kopyo radar in a centreline pod so it could find and attack targets in weather that grounded the original Frogfoot. Guided anti-tank missiles and a laser designator complete the package. Only a handful were built during the 1990s. On MCS the Su-39 keeps the armoured survivability of the Su-25 and adds the ability to identify vehicles at a distance instead of overflying them first. That makes attack runs shorter, safer and much more accurate against dispersed armour. It is still slow and still helpless against fighters. Recommended for players whose job is killing tanks rather than trucks or infantry.
