The Mi-24P entered service in 1981 and is the version of the Hind that swapped the nose turret for a fixed twin barrel 30 mm cannon mounted on the starboard fuselage side. Because the gun does not traverse, the whole helicopter has to be aimed, which suits the Hind fine since it is fast, heavily armoured and flies more like an attack aircraft than a hovering gunship. Behind the two crew is a cabin that seats eight, a combination no Western attack helicopter has ever repeated. On MCS the Hind is the helicopter for players who want to arrive shooting and bring people with them. It takes damage that would down an Apache and it moves quickly in a dive. Precision is poor compared with turret armed gunships and it is not agile. Recommended for combined assaults where firepower and troops arrive together.
