Ajax reached initial operating capability with the British Army in 2025 after a long and troubled development. It is a tracked armoured reconnaissance vehicle in the forty tonne class, heavier than most vehicles that do this job, and it is designed around its sensor fit: electro optics, acoustic detectors, a laser warning system and a datalink intended to feed everything it sees back to a headquarters. Its CT40 cannon uses cased telescoped ammunition, where the projectile sits inside the propellant charge and rounds are loaded sideways, saving turret space. On MCS the Ajax is a scout that can fight. It sees further than anything else on the ground, survives contact that would destroy a light vehicle, and the 40 mm cannon defeats every IFV it will meet. It is slow to reposition. Recommended for players who want to hold an observation position and win firefights from it.
