The P-996 Lazer is the military fighter that ships with GTA V, drawn from the F-16 and given a twin-tail treatment. It is the quickest of the stock jets, climbs hard, and carries two rapid firing cannons plus a magazine of homing missiles with flares. Handling is forgiving: it holds the nose where you put it and recovers from a bad energy state more readily than the Hydra does. Because it is the airframe most players already know, it works as the baseline on MCS. When a modded fighter feels sluggish or unusually agile, the Lazer is what your hands are comparing it against. In combat it rewards straightforward boom and zoom flying, diving from altitude, firing at the merge and climbing away rather than committing to a low, slow scrap on the deck.
