The J-35 is the naval development of the FC-31 line, first flown in 2021 and intended for Chinese carriers fitted with catapults. It differs from the land prototypes in the ways carrier aircraft always do: strengthened landing gear, a nose gear launch bar, an arrestor hook, folding wings and a structure built for repeated hard arrivals on a moving deck. It is the second stealth fighter type in Chinese service and the first designed from the outset for the fleet. On MCS the C model carries that weight around with it. It is slightly heavier and slightly less responsive than the land prototypes, but the tougher structure and larger control surfaces make it stable at low speed and easy to recover in bad conditions or short spaces. Recommended for players operating from improvised strips who still want a low observable airframe.
