Mallard

The Mallard is the red stunt biplane from the base game, modelled on the Pitts Special. It has no weapons at all, a top speed well under every jet on the server, and a smoke system that leaves a coloured trail behind it. What it does have is control authority: the surfaces are oversized, so it rolls, loops and spins on demand and recovers from almost any attitude at low speed. On MCS the Mallard is not a combat aircraft and nobody pretends otherwise. It is flown for formation displays, low passes over the airfield, precision landing contests and stunt work between rounds, and it is the friendliest airframe on the server for a player who has never flown anything before. Take it into a live area and you will be shot down without a reply. Recommended for aerobatics, screenshots and teaching someone stick and rudder basics.
