The BMP-1 appeared in 1966 and changed what armoured infantry meant. Until then personnel carriers were battlefield taxis, but the BMP had a 73 mm low pressure gun, a rail for a wire guided anti tank missile above it, firing ports for the eight men in the back, and it swam across rivers under its own power. It is remarkably low, about two metres to the turret roof, which makes it hard to see and hard to hit. The price was armour thin enough to be defeated by heavy machine gun fire. On MCS the BMP-1 is a fast, cheap, aggressive vehicle. Use the low silhouette, get into a firing position nobody expected, take the shot and move. The gun is inaccurate at range and anything modern will kill you in one hit, so standing still is the mistake that ends most BMP-1 runs. Recommended for mobile, opportunistic ground play.
