The Su-35S entered Russian service in 2014 and is the furthest development of the original Flanker airframe. Sukhoi removed the canards and the airbrake that earlier upgrades had added, strengthened the structure, increased internal fuel and fitted 117S engines with vectoring nozzles and the Irbis-E radar, which can detect large targets at extreme range but does so by radiating a great deal of power. On MCS the Su-35S is the strongest non stealth fighter available. It sustains turns better than nearly anything, the vectoring gives it a nose authority normally reserved for fifth generation aircraft, and its radar opens engagements early. The trade is visibility: it is large, it shows up on every warning receiver, and stealth aircraft will see it long before it sees them. Recommended for pilots who want maximum performance without a stealth playstyle.
