The AH-1Z entered Marine Corps service in 2010 as the end point of the Cobra line. The two blade rotor that defined every earlier Cobra was replaced by a four blade bearingless composite system that is smoother, quieter and can absorb far more damage, and the helicopter gained twin engines, a new targeting sight and a wing capable of carrying air to air missiles. It shares around eighty five percent of its components with the UH-1Y transport, which was the whole point of the programme. Everything is built to live on a ship. On MCS the Viper is the balanced Western gunship: more agile than an Apache, better protected than a Cobra, and equally happy attacking ground targets or shooting at other helicopters. It carries less than the heavy gunships. Recommended for players who want a gunship that can also defend itself in the air.
